Gorges Cycles wanted to highlight the beauty and their expertise in building custom road and mountain bikes. As Gorges is located in Ithaca, New York, it was natural to seek out one of the many local waterfalls and gorges as a backdrop for the shoot.
Carrying a new and expensive road bike over rocky terrain to the falls gave us pause, but since it was a titanium frame with carbon components it was extremely lightweight and durable — the point of a custom road bike.
We chose Ithaca Falls in Fall Creek as the primary location. No product shoot of a titanium bike and carbon wheels would be complete without a can of Pledge to bring out the shine.
